SomaMoves is moving holistically with awareness, grounding us into our soma souls in quest of our perfectly whole
bodies, minds and spirits. Spiraling in crescendoing currents upward and outward as well as downward and inward
encourages our inner truth to emerge serendipitously. Movement, energy, imagery, and awareness, breathe in and out
within our multi-sensory bodies offering currents of enlightenment and strength, waves of joy and peace of mind.
SomaMoves is a contemporary approach toward movement
experience that explores a mixture of experiential elements drawing
from a variety of somatic practices each of which is a token
expression of who we are holistically, body, mind, heart and soul.
SomaMoves is an eclectic form gathered from
personal experience fostering intuition and
intelligence through various somatic components
such as the breath, energy, flow, balance, rhythm.
Space~time, present-centeredness and somatic
awareness are coupled with imagery from nature
and the elements in an embodiment of authentic
organic movement essences.
SomaMoves is an exploration of myriad integrated body actions,
beginning with essential building blocks of motion, basic patterns
of postural alignment and movement awareness. Experiential
elements of movement are explored, contemplated, and gradually
bridged into more complex structures of kinesthetic expression
and control. Throughout the moving experience canons of
expressive awareness emerge as new formulas of kinetic energy
and connection inspire us in unique ways to new places of
personal meaning and holistic well being.
SomaMoves is geared toward a broad community of movers, recreational exercisers and unique individuals
sharing a common interest in moving expressively free, functionally well & contemplatively happy.
SomaMoves is offered as an optional way of moving and as an
experience of understanding the interplay of the body mind soma
building awareness through the embodiment of multiple meditative
forms that are embraced and performed more for enjoyment than
as a therapeutic practice. Although, we imagine an aesthetic
alchemy of somatic experience may offer as much as therapy.
SomaMoves is spontaneously created designed within
structural codifications borrowing from a variety of contemporary
forms including dance, pilates, tai chi, and yoga. We start with an
awareness of the breath and moving into the breath we gradually
build into a gentle rhythmic element that may generate more
cardiovascular effort but that is not the main focus. We explore
parameters of the breath and moving structures of energy
awareness, visionary embodiment, and dynamic stillness.
SomaMoves is moving with attention, intention and purpose
contemplating integral movement patterns and somatic imagery
inspiring our whole selves to live and experience authentically
moving with more depth, precision, clarity, ease and control.
